Artist Statement

Through my artwork, I love to be a researcher and explorer. I search for the freedom to see and connect with the imperfect sides of nature — the places where I feel at home. I explore these authentic environments by studying the rare beauty of natural shapes and colors. I embrace solitude and slow observation — the intimate time I spend while painting. I love to discover the depth of nature and connect it with my inner self.

The greatest source of my inspiration is nature’s forms, lines, and colors. I love working with natural elements. Wild-growing plants and the naturally dried seed heads of rare shapes are especially close to my heart. The Nordic, earthy color palette reflects my vision of nature — moody, honest, timeless, and deeply connected to human nature as well.

I also collect glass bottles and vases with unique shapes and colors, which often inspire me to paint still-life's.

I am a dreamer and a thinker, and my visual language reflects that — atmospheric and dreamlike, even romantic. My artistic vision is influenced by both Impressionism and Surrealism. The impressions I receive from slow contemplation of objects in nature are essential to my process. I prefer painting directly from life and often sketch outdoors. While observing and painting, I also collect ideas for artworks that I later develop in my home studio.

In my paintings, I love to explore mood and focus on light and shadow — capturing the calm and delicate atmosphere around natural objects. I enjoy using traditional layered watercolor techniques, combined with contemporary approaches ranging from loose to detailed. Harmony in composition is very important to me. I look for airiness in space, the contrast of living lines, and the sensuality of color spots. I always strive to keep it natural. Watercolor is my favourite medium — flowing and alive, it allows me to create artworks that are perfectly imperfect.

My work is a silent, introspective dialogue with nature — capturing unique moments of life through my impressions and imagination.

I invite the viewer to become an explorer of their own inner landscape through slow contemplation and deeper seeing. I aim to create a quiet space where one can feel closer to nature, accept more, and simply enjoy life.
